Patsy – Hey The Way! I just want to let you know much i appreciate you giving me rides to and from work, many rides to my doctor’s appointment when I couldn’t afford to pay Uber and you even help me with my medical bills. May God continue to bless and keep you safe.
Monica – I just want to thank you so much for giving me and my 3 daughters rides to various places in the city. With one daughter in the Hospital and the rest of us staying at The Ronald McDonald House has been a very challenging time for us. The trips to schools for testing, to Walmart for food and birthday supplies have been so helpful. The trips to the aquarium and boat rides for some peaceful time away from the house and hospital have been great escapes for us. Thank you!
Angelique – Thank you so much for taking me to Walmart so I can buy my household essentials.
Mr. Mack – Thank you for giving me rides to work and back home. I really appreciated the extra time you took to take me to the Doctor and making sure I got home. My back is feeling so much better.
Shane – Good afternoon, The Way, It’s Shane from this morning. Thanks so much for the ride today. You are a blessing I appreciate you. I will be in touch regarding my next scheduled doctor’s appointments . Thanks very much! Have a blessed weekend!
Cherry – Dear Glenn, I write this as a testimonial for The Way. This afternoon I made the mistake of having Uber take me to Food Lion to shop. They charged me $9 to go the 0.3 mile to Food Lion but then after I shopped they were going to charge me $44 for ride home 😡. I could not afford that and felt like the increase was outrageous. As I sat there with my food, I thought of calling you and then I did. And of course The Way did not hesitate to pick me up!! Your service is a life saver and I appreciate it so much. I knew I should have called you first but did not want to bother you right after surgery . But now, I know better and thank you for helping this 80 year old partially blind lady get home!
Rivers – We had a mission and a prayer-to get my mom-in-law transportation to and from her medical appointments that were everyday for 5.5 weeks. The Way There and Back answered that prayer.
I thank Glenn Barrett of ‘The Way There And Back’ for providing transportation for the past 4 weeks. He and his company have been there for us stepping up to the plate when I wasn’t sure if it was ever going to get started. He and his team got us through these last 4 weeks with a strong belief that prayer changes things. And it did. And even though we have 1.5 weeks to go we are grateful for Glenn and his volunteer drivers for their time spent. What they helped us accomplish is truly amazing.
Everyone on his team has been very helpful very kind and God loving.
Sometimes a simple thank you does not capture the feeling adequately. Does not do it justice but it will have to suffice. Glenn Barrett and his mission at ‘The Way There and Back’ answered a prayer and for that we are forever grateful.
Jalesa – I wanted to thank you for all that you guys do to accommodate my patient to ensure that she makes it to and from her appointments safely. We greatly appreciate you guys for what you do in the community. – Jalesa Green, LMSW Outpatient Social Worker MUSC Hollings Cancer Center
Ashley – The Way There and Back is one of those organizations that truly makes a difference in ways that can be hard to put into words. I’ve had the opportunity to experience their kindness from both sides—as someone who has personally needed transportation to medical appointments and as a healthcare provider trying to make sure patients can get the care they need.
They have helped me get to several medical appointments when transportation could have easily become one more thing to worry about. Knowing I had a safe, reliable way to get there and back took such a weight off my shoulders. As a medical provider, I have seen how difficult transportation can be for patients, but I had not experienced this personally until recently. I also currently need a little assistance getting in and out of the car, which makes using a rideshare less reliable. People needing to get to appointments struggle with this daily, and my current situation has opened my eyes even more to this gap in access to care.
When it comes to the clinic I run, we work with families who sometimes face very real barriers to getting their children to appointments. There have been times when a family wanted and needed to come to therapy, but simply didn’t have a way to get there. The Way There and Back stepped in and helped make it possible. It may seem like “just a ride,” but when that ride means a child can receive therapy, a parent doesn’t have to choose between missing an appointment and figuring out transportation they don’t have, or someone can get to the medical care they need—it becomes so much more than transportation.
What I love about The Way There and Back is that there is genuine kindness behind what they do. They aren’t just helping people get from one place to another. They are removing barriers, easing stress, and reminding people that someone cares enough to help.
I am incredibly grateful for the rides they have provided for me personally, but I’m even more grateful for the difference I’ve seen them make for the families we serve. Our community is better because The Way There and Back is part of it. – Ashley Bondurant, PT, DPT Lemons to Lemonade Therapy, LLC
